As part of its ongoing commitment to building cross-border academic collaboration and promoting legal reform in Indonesia, Pasqapro proudly facilitated the European academic visit of the Indonesian Association of Private Law Lecturers (APHK) in May 2025. This international program focused on comparative civil law and aimed to establish strategic ties with renowned legal institutions in the Netherlands, Belgium, and France.
The journey began on May 6, 2025, at Leiden University, where discussions on “Evolving Legal Frameworks: The Intersection of Criminal, Civil, and Administrative Law” were led by Dr. Emanuel van Dongen and Drs. Caspar de Bok. Topics included codification, corporate liability, and the evolution of legal frameworks to address digital challenges and fraud in commercial contracts.

Later the same day, the delegation proceeded to Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB), Belgium, where legal scholars Françoise Auvray, Michèle Grégoire, and Rafael Jafferali explored current reforms in Belgian contract law. The session highlighted the modernization of civil codes, security provisions, time limitation laws, and the adaptation of legal language to reflect social and technological changes.

On May 7, 2025, the visit continued at the Brussels School of Governance (BSoG), Belgium. Discussions with Prof. Dr. Kristin Henrard and Anthony Antoine focused on the integration of human rights in business law and the role of interdisciplinary approaches in legal education. Participants explored potential joint research initiatives and academic exchanges between Indonesian institutions and BSoG.

At Utrecht University, Netherlands on May 8, 2025, the delegation delved into the development of Dutch civil codes in a session titled “The Making, Meaning, and Application of Civil Codes in the Netherlands.” Dr. E.G.D. (Emanuel) van Dongen, LLM, and Drs. Caspar de Bok examined the open norm philosophy and technological adaptation in legal practice, offering valuable lessons for Indonesian legal reform efforts.

As the final stop of the visit, on May 9, 2025, the APHK delegation paid an official visit to the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Paris, France. The delegates were warmly received by H.E. Mohamad Oemar, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to France, accompanied by Harry Putranto (Trade Attaché), Billy Wibisono (Economic Affairs), and Dr. Luh Anik Mayani (Education and Cultural Attaché). The discussion focused on key legal and economic challenges faced by Indonesia in international contexts, including contractual disputes, arbitration, and alignment with European Union standards. Strategic issues such as CEPA negotiations, data protection, energy transition, and digital adaptation in national law were also addressed in depth during the session.
By facilitating this high-level academic exchange, PASQAPRO continues to position itself as a catalyst for international legal cooperation. This initiative not only enriches academic perspectives but also paves the way for lasting partnerships in education, research, and institutional development.
